This week's news - the weather! Plus weekly match report, 28th May
What a fantastic week it's been. Whilst last week's matches were dominated by torrential downpoors and soggy greens, this week we have been bathed in warm to very hot sunshine for days on end, as the UK recorded record temperatures. It makes the game of bowls a pleasure to play, although some have their limits in the heat, as shown when this week's ladies' friendly match was cancelled due to the high temperature. Triples Competition this weekend We are all set for our club tr

30th April; Weekly news and match report
Open day fun in the sun Alex and Kerry, who cycled from Haywood to join us It was a beautiful warm and sunny day for our open day last weekend. Many of our members came along and helped to make the day a really successful one. With the bunting fluttering, a tableful of cakes looking inviting and the BBQ ready to fire up, we waited anxiously to see if all the advertising and promotion had worked and we would get some visitors! By opening time, the green was already looking bus

He creates a report for each committee meeting, giv

Weekly news and match report
President's Day The weather It was an interesting start to the afternoon, with glorious sunshine to welcome members back for the new season, followed almost immediately with a downpour of hail that turned the green white for a few minutes. It wasn't long before the hail disappeared and an afternoon of sun and minor showers with fresh winds then prevailed. A good turnout saw 40 members line up for the annual photo followed by a spider, won by Doreen Dickinson. The match Presid

The stars were out at Banwell Bowling Club's evening of the year
It was a wonderful social atmosphere as members and guests arrived for our annual presentation evening at Worlebury Golf Club. The drinks were flowing, and Wendy's efforts at cleaning all the cups paid dividends as they shone proudly on the table. There were oohs and aahs as the raffle table started to fill. Ann Amos did a sterling job keeping up with the demand for raffle tickets, before MC John Wright called for everyone to take their seats for dinner. Here are a few of our

From 15th October, you will no longer be able to post items or comments there. I will be working on its replacement, still Clubhouse Chat , but in a different format. As soon as it is complete, I will publish a guide to using it. Also, I will ask a few of you to give it a go - just to make sure it works before the new season starts! Shall we
