Subscription and Competition Guidance Notes
How subscriptions are used
Subscriptions include a £15 voluntary donation to clubhouse refurbishments
Social member subscription includes a £5 voluntary donation to clubhouse refurbishments
Competition entry fees are paid as donations
50% of all money received from tickets goes towards club funds for upkeep and renovations
50% goes into the 50/50 prize fund, 4 amounts to be won each month over 6 months (April-September)
Men’s Competitions
Championship - 4 bowls singles competition
Singles Handicap - Players are given a rating based on performances in singles competitions
Veterans - 4 bowls singles competition (aged 60 and over)
Pairs - 4 bowls each - pairings/positions drawn by selection committee
Ladies’ Competitions
Championship - 4 bowls singles competition
Pairs - 4 bowls each - pairings/positions drawn by selection committee
Competitions that are open to all
2 Wood - singles competition 2 bowls only
2 wood pairs - pairs using 2 bowls each - Pairings/positions drawn by selection committee
Open Pairs - pick you own partner and playing position - 4 bowls each
Novices - Available to anyone who has not won a singles club competition - singles 4 bowls each
Beginners - Available to anyone with 4 seasons or less experience
Other Competitions
Umbrella - Mondays - starting on 13th May, you must be a paid up member. There is no entry fee, just £1 on the day. Players must play for 10 weeks or more to be in with a chance of winning.

Triples - 23/24th August - competition held over 2 days, teams seeded and drawn out by selection committee
Rinks Day - Sun 10th August - All day competition, teams seeded and drawn out by selection committee
Tony Hyde Shield - Sun 27th April - All day triples competition, teams seeded and drawn out by selection committee
