Autumn News from the Clubhouse
The first of autumn and winter's cold mornings has finally arrived, following our long, hot summer. For those of us bowling indoors, the matches roll on, whilst the ones taking a break might be sinking gently into cosy winter evenings, or enjoying other indoor hobbies.

Live music in the clubhouse

Dates for your Diary
The green might be closed, but our off-season programme of activities continues. As well as keeping us connected over the winter, the events - especially the raffles - help to raise much-needed funds to enable year-round maintenance of the green such as the example above.
Read on to find out what's in store over the winter, and make a note of the dates.
Trevor's quiz
Our next event is on Thursday 29th October.
Trevor's quiz is always great fun, with questions and brainteasers to get everyone thinking.
The clubhouse will be open from 6.30 for a 7pm start. There is an entry fee of £3 per person. Please bring a prize for the raffle if you can and, of course, the bar will be open for drinks and snacks.
To make sure we have a fun night, there will be teams of 4 BUT with some flexibility - a score deduction for more than 4 (and an increase for 3 or less). Teams can be sorted on the evening if required.
The scores of the top two teams only will be announced. (with other scores on request.)
Trevor is donating 4 Bottles of wine to the winning team.
Presentation dinner, 19th November, 6.30 for 7pm at Beachlands Hotel, Weston-super-Mare
54 people are coming for our annual event. The cups are polished and engraved with this year's winners, and the medals are ready.
Please can you pay the balance of £27 per person via bacs to the club account by 6th November.
Finally, please can everyone bring a raffle prize to ensure we enjoy our biggest raffle of the year!

Nominations and items for the agenda are finalised and will be send out prior to the meeting. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Christmas drinks, Saturday 12th December from 4pm in the clubhouse
Come along and catch up with everyone for a festive drink and chat. You never know, there may be mince pies!
Events for 2027
Skittles night, Saturday 16th January
Our annual skittles night will be in the Coach House, Locking, with a fun evening of competition and a hot buffet. You will be able to confirm whether or not you are coming when we meet for Christmas drinks, or RSVP on the website/app when the event is advertised nearer to Christmas.
Games night, Saturday 6th February
Come along for an evening of interactive entertainment. It's been a while since Trevor hosted games on the green - the indoor version promises to be a hoot!
Short short mat in the clubhouse, Thursday 4th March
A lighthearted and fun game for all. Not the usual short mat format - come along and see if you can master it!
Pre-season drinks, Saturday 3rd April
And here we are again, ready for the new season to start. Come along and pick up your new handbook, refresh your memory on the use of the online booking system and join the chat in the clubhouse.

Dawlish Tour, 19th to 22nd April
There are 30 people booked into our spring tour. We have 3 matches - 2 in Dawlish and one in Cullompton on the way home. It promises to be a fun few days, as well as a warm-up for the season. For those of you who are going, look out for updates and information in our tour whatsapp group.
Open Day, 25th April
Plans are being made to welcome people into the club to have a go at bowling and enjoy our hospitality. There will also be another open day later in the season
