There was a very decent turn out of players this week, totalling twenty five (over 70% of available players) in an almost rain free night.
We have two new members - Martin Brand and Doreen Dickenson had their first taste of competitive bowling this week, with two more new members joining next week, which is excellent news for the club.
Three rinks had close games in terms of ends won, with only one end separating them (eight to seven), although the actual match scores gave two rinks wins where they were behind on ends....such is the Umbrella system.
The top three positions haven't changed from last week but, with previous low scores being removed on ever present players, others are catching up.
Incidentally - Leader Alan Shattock is now on the same score that won the competition last year...(whereby the winner scored almost nothing in the last three weeks). - just saying...!
Finally, we are now only three weeks away from the big week 15 (Fancy dress and fish & chips) - there will be a link in next week's Umbrella blog to the order form for fish & chips.
