Never mind Covid - how about a little Swing Fever?

As you may know from activities in 2019 onwards, when Mac Kirby was club Captain, he is a Samaritan. As a volunteer, he mans the phones, talking to desperate people who call, day and night. He also takes part in management, training and fundraising activities for this worthy charity.

Being multi-talented, Mac has also long been an accomplished musician, and he often brings his 2 activities together.

Here is a message from him;

I have organised a Samaritans fund raiser evening. My 6-piece jazz band Swing Fever will be playing a mixture of jazz styles and popular music to make sure the evening goes with a Swing!

Members of Swing Fever in action

Swing Fever has played in venues as diverse as for the Queen in Weston, and Ned Kelly's, a famous club in Hong Kong.

You may have seen them in venues and around Weston, including a wonderful sunny pre-covid afternoon in July 2019 on the seafront, listening to their mellow tones at the Weston Lions Real Ale and Cider festival.

The event is on:

Sunday 6th February
at
The Borough Arms, Locking Road
starting at 7pm.

Entry is free. During the evening, we will be raising funds for Samaritans of W-S-M and N. Somerset by doing a collection.

Please come along and bring as many family and friends as possible to help us make the event a success.

Hoping to see you there!
